Delhi, June 27, 2025: The India SME Forum (ISF) celebrated International MSME Day 2025 with its impactful Conclave, “Enabling a Paradigm Shift in MSME Exports,” held on June 28, 2025, in New Delhi. The event galvanized policymakers, industry leaders, and MSME entrepreneurs to chart a bold roadmap for integrating India’s small businesses into global value chains, emphasizing digital transformation, export readiness, and seamless trade facilitation to drive India’s ambition of reaching $200 billion in e-commerce exports by 2030.
The Conclave featured inspiring success stories from industry trailblazers who have transformed small ventures into international brands. Mr. Sunil Saha, Co-Founder of Blue Tea, shared his journey, stating, “Indian SMEs must position themselves as a modern brand to challenge established American and European markets. With consistent branding and a disruptive mindset, Indian entrepreneur has shown that a small Indian player can compete globally by being better.” His story underscored the potential of Indian MSMEs to carve a niche in competitive international markets through innovation and resilience.
A key highlight was the fireside chat on the “Roadmap to Reach $200 Billion by 2030 in E-Commerce Exports,” featuring Mr. Srinidhi Kalvapudi, Head of Amazon Global Selling who highlighted, “Since 2015, Amazon Global Selling has enabled Indian sellers to achieve $13 billion in cumulative e-commerce exports by 2024. The momentum from Tier-2/3 city MSMEs building globally competitive brands is inspiring. We are committed to contributing $80 billion to India’s e-commerce export target by 2030, with MSMEs at the core.” His insights reinforced the pivotal role of e-commerce platforms in empowering small businesses to scale globally.
The panel discussion on “Creating a Robust Ecosystem to Boost MSME E-Commerce Exports” featured eminent Industry Leaders and Government Officials. Mr. Md. Moin Afaque, Joint Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) outlined transformative initiatives, saying, “Our upcoming e-commerce export hubs, inspired by global best practices, will serve as single-window zones for logistics, certification, and regulatory support. With five pilot hubs approved and more planned, we’re building a digital-first, MSME-inclusive export ecosystem.” These hubs aim to simplify processes and enhance market access for MSMEs.
The Conclave also hosted presentations on “Global Trade & Investment Opportunities” by Mr. Daniel Delgado, Head of Economic and Trade Promotion Department, Embassy of Mexico to India, Mr. Rahul Chongtham, Commercial Counsellor, Embassy of Iceland to India, Mr. Yerassimos Lazaris, Minister- Counsellor for Economic & Commercial Affairs, Embassy of Greece to India & H.E. Mr. Molalign Asfaw, Ambassador & Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Ethiopia. Mr. Daniel Delgado, Head of Economic and Trade Promotion Department, Embassy of Mexico to India, emphasized complementary trade opportunities, stating, “In sectors like automobiles, aluminium, medicines, plates, and tiles, India and Mexico don’t just compete, but we complement each other. We’re promoting new business opportunities to strengthen ties.” These discussions highlighted the growing global trust in Indian MSMEs as reliable partners in diverse sectors.
Aligned with the UN’s theme, “Business for MSMEs: Connecting Entrepreneurs,” the event fostered actionable strategies to integrate MSMEs into international markets, leveraging India’s emergence as a trusted alternative in shifting global supply chains. The Conclave culminated with the National MSME Impact Awards 2025, recognizing outstanding contributions by state governments, financial institutions, and service providers in building inclusive support frameworks for MSMEs.
