Government Expands MSME Infrastructure Nationwide
15th February 2024: In a significant stride towards enhancing the country's entrepreneurial landscape, the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) is poised to mark a historic milestone with the inauguration of multiple Technology Centers, Extension Centers, and Development and Facilitation Offices spanning various regions of India.
Led by Union Minister for MSME, Narayan Rane, and accompanied by Rakesh Sachan, Minister of MSME, Khadi, Village Industries, Sericulture Industries, Handloom, and Textile from the Government of Uttar Pradesh, the inauguration ceremony is set to take place on Wednesday.
The inauguration will witness the unveiling of three Technology Centers located in Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh), Baddi (Himachal Pradesh), and Imphal (Manipur), signifying a concerted effort to bolster technological capabilities across the nation.
Furthermore, the ceremony will see the remote inauguration of two Extension Centers in Karimnagar and Bhavanipatna (Odisha), along with the Development and Facilitation Office of DC (MSME) at Dehradun (Uttarakhand) and the Development and Facilitation Office (Nucleus Centre) at Ladakh.
An integral component of the ceremony will be an exhibition showcasing the diverse array of products manufactured by MSMEs under various sectors. Special attention will be given to the One District One Product (ODOP) offerings from different districts of Uttar Pradesh, alongside displays by the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) and COIR Board.
Noteworthy is the provision for dedicated spaces aimed at incubators, women entrepreneurs, and SC/ST entrepreneurs, providing them with a platform to showcase their innovations and contributions to the MSME ecosystem. As part of the ODOP scheme, 100 women entrepreneurs will receive toolkits, further empowering them to excel in their respective fields.
Moreover, the ceremony will spotlight the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, a comprehensive initiative launched by the Prime Minister to provide holistic support to artisans and craftspeople across 18 trades. With over 4,10,464 successful applications registered under the scheme, an Experience Centre showcasing the covered trades will be established at the exhibition to raise awareness and promote participation.
The inauguration of MSME Technology Centers, Extension Centers, and Development and Facilitation Offices underscores the government's steadfast commitment to fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and inclusive growth across diverse regions, laying a robust foundation for India's economic prosperity and resilience.
