International SME Convention

Enabling Indian SMEs Go Global

India is the World's Largest Market comprising of 350 Million Urban Consumers & has over 2 million hi-growth SMEs with an annual growth rate of 20%.

International SME Convention organised by India SME Forum is the foremost International platform for discussing & sharing best practices for enterprise development, facilitating business discussion and encouraging trade partnerships by and between innovative, progressive and sustainable small and medium enterprises, from all over the world.

The first edition of ISC held in April 2018, the convention was hosted by the federal Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises of the Government of India and co-organised by the India SME Forum.  ISC is a focused platform for intensive business & trade relations, with a specific focus on co-operation between international entrepreneurs and selected entrepreneurs from India.  This edition had 35 International trade development organisations, 160 entrepreneurs and 27 experts from 39 countries, in the three day event where issues of international best practices on SME development and cooperation, sectoral business opportunities for SMEs & problems faced by women entrepreneurs, were among the topics discussed.
Poland, with 15 delegates, had the largest delegation, followed by Uzbekistan with 8 SMEs and Ghana with seven. More than Four hundred selected SMEs from India participated and signed 17 agreements with enterprises of UK, Russia, Uzbekistan, Poland, Bhutan, Austria, Czech Republic, Cameroon and Sri Lanka. These agreements are in 12 sectors covering food processing, agriculture, textiles, defense, ammunition, waste management, dairy products, coal, jewellery, health care and education.

The Second International SME Convention was organised by the Ministry of MSME in association with the Economic Diplomacy & States Division of the Ministry of External Affairs and the India SME Forum. 38,011 registrations were received of which 1385 entrepreneurs were selected from India to participate in the Second International SME convention which was held in New Delhi with the support of UNIDO & UNDP as Institutional Partners. 175 entrepreneurs from 44 countries were selected from among 4185 International entrepreneurs who registered to attend the convention.
Ambassadors from 16 countries including, European, African and Latin American Countries along with their respective commercial sections presented trade opportunities at the Convention.
198 pre-arranged b2b meetings were conducted between entrepreneurs from India and overseas, of which 42 letters of intent were filed for possible future collaborations.
729 B2B trade connect forms were filed by Indian Entrepreneurs and evinced interest in finding International collaborators and technology partners and a total of 3015 requests for International B2B matching were received, for which an International SME Gateway is in the making.
