MSME sector gets online boost in Odisha

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on 21st November, said the State Government is committed to development of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Launched 11 types of services online in five programmes for the benefit of MSME entrepreneurs, he said these units are the basis for development of the economy and providing employment to more people.

Patnaik said that while the global economy has been impacted by the coronavirus epidemic, the MSMEs in the State are going through a very difficult financial situation and the State Government would take steps to help them.

He said that despite the pandemic, Odisha has managed to attract investments worth Rs 1,17,000 crore in the last 10 months. “It has created jobs for more than 53,000 young people,” he asserted. The event was attended, among others, by Sanjay Bishwal of Cuttack district and Ashalta Pani of Angul. Sujata spoke about how the Government’s financial support during the pandemic protected the livelihoods of the workers.

The 11 online services launched by the Department of Atomic, Small and Medium Industries under the 5-T charter are micro, small business registration certificates for export promotion and marketing, price certificate certificates, laboratory standards. export promotion assistance, certificate renewal for micro, small enterprises, pre-supply and post-supply inspection services, recommendations for Khadi and Village Industries Board certification, subsidies to khadi industries by the Khadi & Village Industries Board, supply of goods to various departments by the Odisha Small Industries Corporation through business organisations, non-arrears certificates issued by the Odisha State Financial Corporation.

All of these services will be available at odishamsme.nic.in. Entrepreneurs can avail various government services and opportunities online at their convenience without coming to Government offices.
