Bharat Khera Takes Charge as Secretary, Ministry of MSME

In an important administrative development for India’s MSME ecosystem, Shri Bharat Khera has assumed charge as the Secretary, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) on 1 May 2026. A 1995-batch IAS officer (Himachal Pradesh cadre), he brings over three decades of experience across key central and state government roles. Prior to this appointment, he served as Additional Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs, and earlier held senior positions in the Ministry of Defence and Cabinet Secretariat. His leadership is expected to strengthen MSME policy execution and support the sector’s role in achieving Viksit Bharat 2047.
