Bokaro Steel Plant-dependent MSMEs fail to tide over lockdown go slow
Though many traders are exhibiting curiosity in establishing their businesses within the Bokaro area of Jharkhand Industrial Area Development Authority (Jiada), the MSMEs present there, particularly those who depend upon orders given by Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL), are on a struggling path.

In a particular week, 38 new traders have utilized for land in Bokaro area for establishing their items. Of them, 5 firms, together with a beer manufacturing unit have been allotted land whereas the remainder of them have been requested to take part within the on-line public sale.
President of Jharkhand IndustriesAssociation (Jia) Mahesh Kejriwal said thus, “The condition of MSMEs that are dependent on BSL is not good. They are not getting support from BSL.”
He said that BSL’s director in-charge Amarendu Prakash had held a gathering with homeowners of MSMEs and had assured assistance. However till date, no help has arrived from the PSU.
There are about 200 MSMEs which depend on BSL in Jiada’s Bokaro region. Of them, about 120 are are passing through a bad phase in absence of BSL’s support.
President of Bokaro Chamber of Commerce and Industries Sanjay Baid averred, “The global pandemic has hit industries and business establishments. It has ruined everyone’s expectations. The industries are running at a loss. The time to come will be more difficult.”
