Outreach webinar for startups in emerging technologies by Army

To support Atmanirbhar Bharat, the Indian Army with strong efforts to enhance an innovation ecosystem, has implemented an outreach webinar for startups in emerging technologies.

From 17th to 28th December, 2020, as many as 89 startups presented their locally developed innovations, ideas and proposals virtually to Indian Army during the held webinar. 

The proposals put the field of Drones, Counter Drones, Robotics, Autonomous Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Quantum computing, Blockchain technology, 3D printing, Nanotechnology and Medical applications, in the center of attention and activities.

The webinars received a massive response where 13 proposals were shortlisted for further examination based on their viability and applicability for the Indian Army. 

Giving a speech on the occasion, Deputy Chief of Indian Army, Lt Gen SS Hasabnis highlighted the significance of self-reliance in the defence sector and called upon the defence industry, particularly the startups to invest in emerging and niche technologies.
