BSNL hikes prices of some of its prepaid plans
The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has hiked prices of some of its prepaid plans with the benefits remaining unchanged. The telco has also increased the availability of getting a free SIM card till January 31, 2021.
A statement of BSNL Chennai noted that the company is rationalising PV 186 as PV 199 from January 1, 2021. BSNL will revise PV 186 to modify it to a revised price of Rs 199 with a validity of 30 days for freebies and plan validity. The freebies and features of the plan remain the same as before. The prepaid plan offers 250 minutes of free voice calls per day in Home LSA and national roaming including MTNL Mumbai and Delhi. It also comes with 2GB data per day and 100 SMS per day for 28 days.
BSNL has also hiked the price of STV 199 that would now be called as STV 201 by Rs 2. The already working STV will however have no changes in the existing freebies, features and validity. This plan offers 250 minutes of voice calls to any network in home LSA only. The plan also offers 1GB data per day and 100 SMS per day for 28 days with Cricket PRBT, free PRBT and cricket SMS alerts at no extra cost with STV 201.
Additionally, BSNL has extended free SIM offers till January 31, 2021. As per the BSNL Tamil Nadu circular, the offer will now be available to customers who join BSNL by buying a new connection or porting their existing SIM to BSNL.
BSNL has also revised its 1999 prepaid plan to tweak the streaming benefits that come with it. The telco is now giving a subscription to Eros Now for 365 days and Lokdhun content for 60 days. The plan offers unlimited voice calling across all circles and gives 3GB of data per day. After the daily limit of 3GB is reached, the speed would be reduced to 80 Kbps. The plan offers 1095GB of data for 365 days and comes with 100SMS.
