Under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, MSDE launches Training Programs

The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has launched the Training of Master Trainers and Assessors program as part of the PM Vishwakarma scheme, aimed at empowering artisans and craftsmen. The program, held at the National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD) from November 6th-10th, 2023, involves training 41 master trainers from 10 different Indian states. These trainers will be equipped with contemporary technological skills and entrepreneurial knowledge, focusing on entrepreneurial competencies, business planning, government support systems, financial literacy, digital and social media marketing, branding, and marketing. They will also receive a modern toolkit to enhance their skills and adapt to industry practices.

Master trainers will also learn how to conduct orientation sessions for program beneficiaries, recognize entrepreneurial qualities, and familiarize Vishwakarmas with government support schemes. They will be trained to educate Vishwakarmas on procedures and formalities related to bank financing. After the training, candidates will be assessed based on the skills and knowledge acquired during the program. This assessment will include the use of modern tools, digital and financial literacy, branding and marketing, and self-employment modules.

The PM Vishwakarma scheme offers several benefits, including certificates, skill enhancement, entrepreneurial knowledge, toolkit incentives, credit support, incentives for digital transactions, and marketing and branding support. The primary objective of training master trainers is to effectively implement the PM Vishwakarma scheme, enhancing the quality and reach of products and services created by artisans. The overarching aim is to provide comprehensive support to artisans, helping them advance within their trades.
