Launch of "Udyami Bharat" to support MSMEs

The Indian government is creating a new website called 'Udyami Bharat' to help micro, small and medium-sized businesses. This website will make it easier for entrepreneurs to find information about government programs that can help them as MSMEs are very important for India's economy as they provide jobs and contribute a lot to the country's exports. As of June 2024, there were over 2.69 crore MSMEs registered in India.

What will the website do?

The 'Udyami Bharat' portal will be a one-stop shop for MSMEs. They can enter their business registration number and get information about all the government schemes that might help them. This will save time and make it easier for businesses to get support.

When will it be ready?

The first part of the website is expected to start working by September 2024. The government is spending Rs. 130 crores on this project.

How will it work?

At first, the website will have information about schemes from the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. Later, it will include programs from other ministries as well. A team of 15 people will manage the website, which will be hosted on secure government servers.

The 'Udyami Bharat' portal is part of the government's efforts to use technology to help businesses. These digital solutions aim to make it easier for people to access government services and support. This new portal is expected to be a big help for India's many small businesses, making it easier for them to grow and contribute to the country's economy.
