India's Union Textiles Minister Piyush Goyal Launches 'Kasturi Cotton Bharat' Website
India's Kasturi Cotton Bharat project aims to make Indian cotton well-known worldwide. The Union Textiles Minister, Piyush Goyal, has introduced the official website for this project, https://kasturicotton.texprocil.org.
This is a big step towards improving the quality and keeping track of Indian cotton. It is a team effort involving the Ministry of Textiles, the Cotton Corporation of India, trade organizations, and the textile industry, as they want to make Indian cotton a top-quality product that people can trust globally.
The idea for 'Kasturi Cotton Bharat' was born on World Cotton Day, celebrated on October 7th. The Ministry of Textiles officially introduced the brand with a logo that represents the qualities of Indian cotton. On December 15, 2022, an agreement was signed between the Cotton Corporation of India and TEXPROCIL, which represents the Textile Industry, to promote Kasturi Cotton Bharat.
One of the key things about this project is that it includes cotton producers from all over India. They will follow specific rules to produce the Kasturi Cotton Bharat brand. Modern technology, like QR codes and blockchain, will be used to track the cotton at every stage.
During the launch event, Union Textiles Minister Piyush Goyal said that they weren't just introducing a brand, but they were also sharing India's rich cotton heritage with the world. This project is positioning Indian cotton on the world stage as a high-quality and responsible choice.
As this project continues, it will make Indian cotton more famous globally and benefit everyone involved in the cotton business.
