India and Australia Collaborate on an Accelerator for Startups
The Rapid Innovation and Startup Expansion (RISE) Accelerator was created by India and Australia to assist Indian and Australian startups in becoming equipped with cutting-edge technologies that would accelerate their cross-border effect. The program will be delivered virtually in order to aid startups and provide solutions tailored to each country's needs. Participants in the program would also be eligible for non-equity subsidies of up to $75,000, as well as a travel allowance.
The RISE Accelerator assists startups, and micro, and small-to-medium enterprises that are developing innovative technology and considering international expansion between India and Australia. The program intends to help companies address common national concerns. The RISE Accelerator will first help entrepreneurs focused on environment and climate technologies, which are important to both India and Australia.
The program, which is free of cost, is targeted to help businesses in a variety of fields, including:
- Climate smart agriculture
- Clean energy
- Waste and the circular economy
- Climate smart mobility
Participating in this program would benefit startups in various including providing them with valuable market, cultural, and regulatory insights, fast-tracking connection to the right partners and customers, growing and scaling technology and research overseas, adapting and validating technology as well as innovations pertaining to joint innovation funds, grants as well as investors in both the regions.
The program is open to entrepreneurs in India and Australia who have mature unique technology and a high level of technology readiness (e.g., pilot system constructed or actual system proven through successful operations) and want to grow worldwide. Startups with a lower level of technological maturity but a strong potential for social, environmental, or economic impact may be chosen to participate.
