India SME Forum Partners with IndiGo to Boost Business Travel for MSMEs
In a significant move to support Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), the India SME Forum has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IndiGo Airlines to provide exclusive travel benefits and customized allowances tailored for business owners. This strategic partnership aims to enhance business mobility, reduce travel costs, and improve accessibility for MSME entrepreneurs across the country, ensuring that they can efficiently connect with new markets, expand their operations, and strengthen their supply chains.
At the 6th Annual Conference on ‘MSMEs in Viksit Bharat: Fueling The Growth Engine’, industry leaders and government officials underscored the significant impact this collaboration will have on the MSME sector, emphasizing its potential to drive growth and expand opportunities. Mr. Vinod Kumar, President of India SME Forum, emphasized the importance of business mobility, stating, “For MSMEs, mobility is key to business growth. This partnership with IndiGo ensures that entrepreneurs can travel more affordably and efficiently, opening doors to new markets and opportunities.”
The MoU is designed to offer tailored travel solutions, ensuring seamless connectivity, discounted fares, and special allowances that will make business travel more cost-effective and hassle-free. MSMEs will gain access to special discounted fares on domestic and international flights, customized baggage allowances, and flexible ticketing options, making it easier for entrepreneurs to manage their travel needs while optimizing costs. Additionally, IndiGo’s extensive domestic and international network will improve connectivity between key business hubs, allowing MSMEs to explore new trade and investment opportunities both within India and globally. Recognizing the dynamic nature of business travel, the partnership also introduces priority check-in, flexible rescheduling options, and dedicated customer support, ensuring a seamless experience for business owners and executives.
Adding to this, an IndiGo Airlines representative Mr. Anshul Sethi, reiterated the airline’s commitment to supporting small businesses, stating, “As India’s leading airline, we are dedicated to fostering India’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. By offering tailored travel solutions, we aim to facilitate business expansion and strengthen the MSME sector’s role in economic growth.”
This India SME Forum-IndiGo partnership aligns with India’s broader vision of MSMEs as the backbone of economic development. By reducing travel barriers, improving accessibility, and expanding networking opportunities, this collaboration is expected to play a pivotal role in helping MSMEs scale their businesses, establish new partnerships, and increase their market reach. With better connectivity and lower travel costs, MSMEs will be able to participate in trade expos, industry conferences, and international business collaborations, further strengthening India’s position as a global economic powerhouse.
As this initiative unfolds, MSMEs can look forward to greater affordability, convenience, and efficiency in business travel. By enabling seamless access to national and global markets, the partnership is set to drive innovation, job creation, and long-term economic growth, reinforcing the crucial role of MSMEs in shaping India’s economic landscape.
